CALVARY scores best UK screen average

John Michael McDonagh's, Calvary, opened in the UK this weekend via eOne to a fantastic result – taking GBP £562,503 from 151 screens with a screen average of £3,750.

The film took £150k on the opening day alone and scored the best average of all films in the top 10 of the UK BO chart. The film performed brilliantly in Ireland where it took home £83k on the opening day of release – which is more than twice the Irish opening of John Michael McDonagh's first feature, The Guard, and beat Russell Crowe's, Noah, to top spot in the BO charts by a whopping £60k.
